The Nattukottai Nagarathar community—one of the oldest merchant communities of Tamil Nadu—has been providing free food and accommodation to pilgrims at Kasi and other sacred sites across India for over 125 years.
With its head office in Karaikudi, the society operates chatrams at 13 locations including Varanasi, Allahabad, Ayodhya, Gaya, Nasik, Kolkata and Tarakeshwaram.
